Woodland School

Our Woodland School programme allows girls to explore our extensive outdoor and woodland areas, giving them the opportunity to learn new skills within a stimulating environment. Girls from Little Malties right through to Year 3 enjoy dedicated Woodland School sessions.

Research shows that natural areas provide children with quiet places for creative play and allow them to test their developing strength and skill. Outdoor learning has significant positive effects on behavior in terms of a greater sense of energy and happiness, better concentration, more cooperative and creative social play, less anger, less depression and less stress.

Woodland School offers girls an inspirational environment where they can grow, achieve and thrive, expanding their imagination through hands-on activities in a peaceful, natural, woodland setting.

The Woodland School at Maltman’s Green offers a specialised learning approach that sits within and compliments the wider context of outdoor education. We have a bird hide, mud kitchen, bug hotel, fire pit and plenty of trees and shrubbery to explore. In our secure Discovery Garden, girls get the opportunity to investigate aquatic life in our natural pond and take part in gardening projects. Woodland and landscaped areas are dotted throughout the grounds and all girls have access to natural areas during playtime.
