Entry Requirements

Maltman’s Green is an academically non-selective school. The admissions procedures are there to ensure that every girl joining the School can benefit from the environment offered. Places are subject to availability, with main entry points in Little Malties, Nursery, Reception and Year 3. Places do come available in other year groups so please enquire.

  • Entry is open to girls aged 2 to 11. All pupils are required to complete an assessment process appropriate to their age.
  • Little Malties is a year-round full day care setting open to girls from the term after their second birthday. A minimum of five sessions is required.
  • Nursery is for 3-4 year olds, and girls are eligible to join in the September after their third birthday.
  • In Reception we take ‘rising fives’.
  • Pre-Prep consists of Year 1 for girls aged between 6 and 7 years old, and Year 2 for girls aged between 7 and 8 years old.
  • Our Prep School consists of Years 3 to 6 for girls aged between 7 and 11 years old.

Assessment

Once registered, your daughter will be invited to visit us and spend time with her peer group in class. During her visit she will be assessed so that we have an understanding of her individual abilities and development.

Offering a Place

After assessing your daughter, a formal offer of a place will be made if it is felt that she will benefit from the opportunities at the School and that the School can cater for her needs.

Induction

In the summer term, all current and new parents are invited to attend an induction evening, where the relevant teaching staff will present an overview of the coming academic year for your daughter. Also in the summer term is our Move-Up Morning which gives your daughter the opportunity to meet her form teacher, make some new friends and look around her classroom. The Move-Up Morning helps your daughter settle into the school and quell those first day nerves she may otherwise feel in September.
