A Message from the Head

20th March 20

It is with regret that Maltman’s Green will be closed from the end of the School day, Friday 20 march until further notice. This is in accordance with Government directives for all schools in England, in an attempt to limit the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). We are, however, providing care for the children of key workers, as outlined by the Government.

Despite our site closure, we are continuing to provide a high quality of education to our pupils during our usual term times. Our distance learning plans offer the kind of Maltman’s education parents have come to expect from us, through a range of learning platforms and digital programmes. Teachers remotely set work for the girls, send podcasts and offer feedback on work that girls submit. I have been so impressed by the spirit of the girls, parents, teachers and support staff. We are facing an uncertain future and yet girls and staff have been coming into school with smiles on their faces and a determination to ‘keep calm and carry on’. So many of our Maltman’s Mindsets have been in action – perseverance, collaboration, empathy, independence and respect. These are difficult times, but we will get through them together and will return to Maltman’s Green stronger for the challenges that we now face.

We sincerely look forward to opening, we hope, sometime in the Summer term.

With best wishes for the health and happiness of your families.

Mrs Joanna Pardon
Headmistress
