20th November 19
On Saturday 16 November, the Friends of Maltman’s Green hosted the annual Christmas Fayre for pupils and their families. There were a variety of activities for children to enjoy including the ever popular Santa’s grotto, the animal petting zoo from Orio and Friends, lucky dip, photo booth, knock the elf off the shelf and more. For parents there was the bottle tombola, plant stall, second-hand toy stall, book sale and wonderful trade stalls where you could snap up that unique Christmas gift.
Visitors also got to enjoy performances by the Maltman’s Belles hand-bells group and the choir. There was also the ever popular bauble signing by Mrs Pardon, the Christmas raffle with incredible, hamper prizes, the Christmas cake competition and the Christmas decoration competition.
An incredible amount of over £7000 was raised, with 20% going to the charity Home Start and the rest into the FOMG fund for future events and donations for school equipment or development projects. All monies raised from the plant stall, toy stall and music performances to the School’s charity for the year – Edirisa UK.
We were particularly impressed with a giant, gingerbread Maltman’s Green that was made by Emilie, in Year 6. Well done Emilie!
Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the fayre. We’re now looking forward to the Christmas nativities and the Carol Concerts!
