Extra-Curricular Activities at Maltman's Green

With over 120 clubs on offer from Reception onwards, our extra-curricular is extra special.

From vibrant music groups, orchestras, and choirs to a variety of dance forms including contemporary, ballet and street dance, girls are encouraged to explore their artistic talents. Drama is also very popular, with performances supported by LAMDA qualifications, which enhance the acting abilities of our girls and build confidence in public speaking.

A diverse sports program caters to a wide range of interests and abilities. From traditional team sports like netball, football and cricket to individual pursuits such as gymnastics, fencing and athletics, there is something for every girl to enjoy.

Finding one’s voice is an essential part of personal growth, and we are proud to offer the Your Voice Award. This unique programme is designed to help our girls discover, develop, and express their voices with clarity, confidence, and conviction. Through the Your Voice Award, we empower every girl in our Prep School to articulate her thoughts eloquently, nurturing communication skills that will serve her throughout life. By fostering self-expression and public speaking abilities, we ensure our pupils are equipped to engage meaningfully in any setting, whether in the classroom, during debates, or future professional endeavors.

We offer a variety of language clubs that provide tuition in German, Mandarin and Spanish, giving our girls the chance to expand their global perspectives from an early age. These clubs are designed to encourage a love of languages and expose pupils to diverse cultures. With engaging lessons, interactive activities and practical conversation practice, our girls develop proficiency in the language and an appreciation for the rich cultural contexts behind them. Whether preparing for future travel, future international studies or simply exploring new languages ready for secondary school, our clubs inspire curiosity and confidence in language learning.

Making teamwork skills a priority is central to our ethos. Collaborative activities help build determination and confidence that form the foundation of success. Through group performances in the Performing Arts to team sports, girls learn the value of working together, supporting each other, and striving for shared goals.

Every one of our activities helps to instil the confidence and self-belief our pupils need to thrive in the pool, on the stage, in the classroom and beyond.
