Music Programme

Our dynamic music programme offers every girl the opportunity to discover her musical potential, whether as a beginner or an advanced musician. From the very first year, music is woven into the fabric of school life, inspiring creativity, building confidence and fostering a lifelong love for the performing arts.

Our Teachers

Our highly experienced music teachers guide our pupils through a rich and varied curriculum, offering lessons that cover everything from music theory and composition to practical instrument tuition. Girls are encouraged to explore a wide range of instruments, with the option of specialist one-to-one tuition in piano, strings, woodwind, brass and percussion available as an additional offering.

Each pupil can grow at her own pace, developing the skills and passion needed to reach her full potential.

Group music-making

Group music-making is a key aspect of our programme, with a variety of ensembles, choirs and orchestras providing opportunities for collaboration and performance. Girls can join the school’s orchestra, guitar group, handbells, drummers or one of our vibrant choirs, performing in school concerts, assemblies, and external events throughout the year. These regular performances build confidence and stage presence, giving each pupil the chance to shine in front of an audience.

Graded Exams

For those who wish to pursue graded music exams, we provide comprehensive support, with many girls achieving outstanding results. Our pupils also take part in local and national music competitions, showcasing their talents and representing Maltman’s Green with pride.
