Katie qualified with a Bachelor of Education in 1996 and has since completed a Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties, the National SENCo Award and an MA in Education. A specialist in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), her expertise extends to assessment, SEND, EAL and English. Over nearly 30 years in education, she has taught children aged 2–7 in independent schools across the UK and internationally.

Her leadership experience includes serving as Head of three Pre-prep schools and holding senior posts such as Director of Studies, Director of Strategy and Development and Designated Safeguarding Lead. In addition, Katie is an Independent Schools Inspector, with a particular focus on the Early Years.

Katie also has a long association with the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS). She previously served as Pre-Prep and EYFS Adviser and now continues as the Association’s EYFS Specialist and accredited Consultant, delivering training and expertise nationally and internationally. Her extensive knowledge ensures safeguarding and pastoral care remain central to the ethos of Maltman’s Green.
