Mrs J Pardon

5th March 19

Joanna has been Headmistress at Maltman’s Green since 2005, having previously worked in independent schools in Kent, Norfolk and Yorkshire, both day and boarding.  She has taken on roles including Head of Humanities, Head of Technology, Director of Studies, Deputy Head and Head, and has been an Independent Schools Inspector since 2000.

Joanna has a passion for the natural world and a BSc in Environmental Studies.  Having decided on a career in education, she qualified initially with a PGCE, adding an MA in education as school management became a greater focus. She has been actively involved in the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS), as secretary for her local district, member of the Strategy Committee, Trustee of the Benevolent Fund and Trustee of the IAPS Charitable Trust.

At Maltman’s Green, she has combined her love of children and the environment, gaining Eco school green flag status and ensuring that the school is a nationally recognised leader for sustainability in education.

Apart from her passion for Prep school education, Joanna loves gardening, reading and walking her dog.
