School Trips, Talks & Workshops

Day Trips

During their time at Maltman’s Green the girls are taken on a number of day trips to a wide variety of locations. The trips are designed to link with course work, expanding each pupils’ knowledge and understanding through a range of practical and cultural experiences.

Day Trips Include:

  • Little Malties: Odds Farm
  • Nursery: Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital
  • Reception: College Lake Environmental Centre
  • Year 1: Woolley Firs
  • Year 1: RHS Wisley
  • Year 2: Legoland
  • Year 2: St Paul’s Cathedral
  • Year 3: Mop End
  • Year 4: Tutankhamun Exhibition
  • Year 5: Hampton Court
  • Year 6: Hazard Alley

Residential Trips

At Maltman’s Green, we pride ourselves on being able to offer a wide range of experiences to our girls beyond the normal academic curriculum. Our programme of residential visits has been running for a number of years and there are opportunities for all children from Year 4 to Year 6 to participate in at least one residential visit per year.

Residential Trips Include:

  • Year 4: Swanage
  • Year 5: Longridge Activity Centre
  • Year 6: France
  • Year 6: Skiing (the Alps)

School Activities

Throughout the School year we run a variety of in-school activities designed to give competition and performance experience as well as the opportunity for creative learning. We have a variety of sports presentations and competitions as well as termly concerts, displaying the musical talents across the School, plus performance opportunities such as the Christmas Nativity. Other all-school events include Book Week, Walk to School Week, Wildlife Photography Competition, Comic Relief, Sports Relief, Harvest Festival, Christmas Lunch, Friendship Week and Children in Need.

Workshops Include:

  • Nursery-Year 2: Image Theatre Visit
  • Reception: Zoolab
  • Year 1: Chertsey Museum Seaside Workshop
  • Year 3: Roman Workshop
  • Year 4: Egyptian Workshop
  • Year 5: Play in a Day (with visiting school)
  • Year 6: WWII Workshop
  • Year 6: Circusology
