We were lucky enough to have two super duper Sports Days this week. On Tuesday, girls from the Junior School took to the field, competing in a variety of activities including running races, mini hurdles, sack races, throwing and more. First place went to Johnson House in the House Relay Challenge who also won the House Cup.
Then, on Wednesday, it was the turn of the Senior School girls. Having been working very hard in their athletics lessons they were very excited for the day ahead. And what a day it was! All the girls competed in a range of events such as the 40m sprint, 400m, javelin, long jump, agility run and hurdles. The Year 3 and 4 girls worked hard all morning and put Johnson house in the lead ready for the Year 5 and 6 sports day in the afternoon. The sun came out for the afternoon session and the enthusiasm from the Year 5 and 6 girls was fantastic. Congratulations to Bronte house on winning first place but congratulations to all the girls for participating in a challenging number of events.
Refreshments were sold to parents and guests during the day, so a big thank you to the FOMG committee for organising. The days were made extra special by the great turn out of parents, special guests and staff and all their encouragement throughout, thank you!. I hope next year is just as successful and the girls have fond memories of Maltman’s Green 2018 Sports Days.
