On Sunday 29 April, 24 girls from Y4, 5 and 6 attended a London Irish Match Day experience held at Leighton Park School in Reading. They thoroughly enjoyed their 2-hour tag rugby coaching session with London Irish Coaches.
The second part of the day was at the Madejski Stadium where they took part in a question and answer session with Topsy Ojo; one of the London Irish players.
After meeting Digger the team mascot, the girls then settled into their VIP seats to watch the match between London Irish and Saracens. A number of the England team players were playing, which was quite a treat to watch! During the first half they also had a visit from another player, Conor Gilsenan who came and signed autographs.
The girls were delighted to be chosen to form part of the half time guard of honour. There were a total of 300 participants, which is the biggest they have had this season (potentially ever!) All the girls were given a London Irish flag and were escorted onto the pitch to cheer the players on. A great day was had by all!
