U10 Netball Tournament at Berkhamsted School

30th November 17

On Wednesday 15 November, the A and B Squads had the afternoon over at Berkhamsted Prep School for the U10 tournament. There was an ‘A’ team tournament and a ‘B’ team tournament with 9 schools entered into each category.

The A team had 4 pool matches. They won their first game against North London Collegiate School 1-0. Annoushka was named player of the match. Next they played High March but unfortunately lost 4-0. Alice was named player of the match. The girls picked themselves up for their 3rd game against North Bridge House winning 3-1. Annoushka was once again named player of the match. Their final pool game was against Notting Hill School, and the girls just didn’t quite get going and again lost 4-0. Bella was named player of the match.

The girls finished in 3rd place out of 5 in their group. For the play off they played Orley Farm and really finished the tournament on a high. They played a beautiful game of Netball, where their passing was accurate and well timed. They won the game 3-0 to finish the tournament in 5th place overall.

The B team also had 4 pool games and played some lovely netball. Their first game was against North London Collegiate School and they won 3-0. Next up was Notting Hill. This was a close game which ended 1-0 to Maltman’s. Abbots Hill were the next challengers and again Maltman’s finished on top, winning the game 1-0. Their final game was against North Bridge House and again, we secured another 1-0 win, putting us through as top of our group into the semi-final. In the Semi-final we met Habs Girls. Despite having most of the possession for the duration of the game we were unable to score and Habs secured the 1-0 win right at the end of the match. The girls then played their final game; the 3rd/4th playoff against Beechwood. The girls played their best, but unfortunately they lost 3-1, finishing 4th out of 9 teams overall.

A huge well done to all the girls. They really listened well to advice during the tournament and made many improvements.
