Little Malties Mindfulness Education

Little Malties have began their mindfulness education through songs, yoga and meditation. This has helped bring a calmness to the end of their day and encouraged their listening skills. Teaching mindfulness allows children to be aware of both inner and outer experiences that have impact on their well-being, allows them to recognise thoughts as “just thoughts”, recognise how emotions are formed, how to maintain focus, and also provide the necessary tools for controlling certain impulses. When they may not get their own way, children sometimes resort to having a tantrum. Unfortunately being mindful will not completely eradicate tantrums, it does help children to develop healthy social and emotional behaviour.
