People Who Help Us – Firefighters

21st September 17

Today Reception had their first visit from ‘People Who Help Us’ – the firefighters!

They had a great time watching and learning all about the amazing services given by our firefighters.  They learned the 3 rules of GET OUT – STAY OUT – CALL THE FIREFIGHTERS OUT!  They heard about calling 999 and what to do in an emergency, some girls will be coming home wanting to learn their address!

The girls got shown all the firefighting equipment, like the Jaws of Life, the thermal imaging camera, the oxygen tanks, the numerous hoses and ladders and also found out how they sometimes pump water from rivers or even swimming pools!

Thank you so much to the 4 firefighters who gave their time this morning, everyone really appreciated this very interesting and informative session.
