On Friday 16 June the Year 2 girls were extremely excited to be heading to Legoland for their Science trip.
The Legoland education staff delivered two fantastic workshops all about underwater creatures and habitats. The girls were shown a range of photographs and slides as they were presented with lots of interesting information. In small groups they then used a unique range of Lego to build an underwater habitat and some creatures to live in it. The Legoland staff were amazed at both their knowledge and creativity.
The girls were fortunate enough to experience the Atlantis Submarine ride to see some of these habitats and creatures in action – up close and personal! They were fascinated by the sharks and stingrays that were just inches away from us.
Later on the girls were treated to a boat ride on Fairy Tale Brook where they spotted a number of characters that we have learnt about in our English lessons. They also enjoyed a turn at the Driving School to practise their road safety knowledge.
After such a busy morning the girls relaxed by the waterside theatre to eat their lunch and were then enthralled by the pirate show which was filled with stunts and laughter.
The afternoon flew by, with just enough time to ride the Spinning Spider and the Scarab Bouncer before heading back to the park exit. There were a number of tired faces on the journey home, which was not a surprise after such a busy day!
All of the girls behaved impeccably on the trip; we are extremely proud of them.
A very special thank you to all of the adults that accompanied us on the trip – we hope you enjoyed yourselves too!
