Summer Concerts

14th June 17

Tuesday evening saw over 120 girls performing in the Year 3&4 and Year 5&6 Music concerts in the Lapraik hall. The concerts contained all of our ensembles – Flute Group, Guitar Group, Brass Group, Orchestra, both Handbell teams and all three choirs – as well as a wide range of soloists including saxophone, flute, violin, piano and several vocalists.

As always, all soloists were true professionals, performing with seemingly no nerves and should be very proud of their achievements. Any small slips were dealt with in a very calm and collected manner! The repertoire contained a wide range of traditional folk songs, songs from the musicals, classical and baroque, as well as a fitting tribute to the late George Michael from the Senior Choir who sang ‘A Different Corner’ and ‘Wake me up before you go go’, complete with disco ball!

A huge well done to every single girl who took part, whether singing as part of the one of the large choirs, or performing a solo for the first time to a large audience.
