British Schools Gymnastics Association National Championships

23rd May 17

On Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th May the Maltman’s Green gymnasts were in action at their final competition of the year; the British Schools Gymnastics Association National Championships held at Fenton Manor in Stoke on Trent.

On Saturday, 5 girls competed in a team Floor and Vault competition and another 2 girls in the Tumbling competition. Eloise in Y5 performed wonderful tumbles and was crowned National Champion after finishing joint first.

The Floor and Vault team involving Laura, Rebecca, Sophie, Poppy and Lilianne; performed their vaults and routines beautifully and received high marks across the board. The competition was incredibly close with the girls finishing in 3rd position.

On Sunday, the girls were competing in the Acro competition. The standard of the Acro competition was phenomenal. In the morning we had Laura and Rebecca performing in the pair’s competition. They performed a delightful routine and narrowly missed out of the medals finished in 4th place just 0.4 away from the winning pair!

In the afternoon we had our group Acro girls, Laura, Rebecca, Sophie, Haniya, Emma and Victoria They absolutely sparkled and shone during their routine and finished a very credible 3rd place 0.15 behind the winners.

Huge congratulation to all the girls involved. They really did themselves and Maltman’s proud and have rounded off a very successful year.
