Reception’s Trip to College Lake

23rd May 17

On Thursday, the Reception girls set off with their teddy bears, for our trip to College Lake to enhance our topic ‘If You Go Down to the Woods…’. We couldn’t believe our luck with the weather given all the rain the day before!

When we arrived we left our teddy bears to look after our picnic lunch and took part in many exciting woodland and outdoor activities. We listened to a story, learnt about the word ‘SWAF’, played some teddy bear games, went to a nature concert in the woods and made some smelly nature potions! We even collected up a broken rainbow as we hunted for all the colours using flowers, leaves and other aspects of nature.

Throughout the day the girls received different clues from a cheeky bear named Edward Bear who believe it or not even organised a teddy bears picnic at lunchtime with all the girls’ teddy bears! We couldn’t believe he was nowhere to be found when we arrived to find all our teddy bears sitting ready for their lunch!

We all had a wonderful day and would like to thank our parent helpers Mrs Criss, Mrs Bergrova and Mrs Mitchell for making the day so special for the girls.
