The Year 6 A and B teams had an early start on Saturday morning travelling to Warwick Prep to take part in their annual netball tournament. The A team played four group games, unfortunately losing their first game 5-6 to Bluecoats, in a closely fought match. They found their stride in the second match defeating St Helen’s and St Katherine’s 8-1. In another close game the A team beat the hosts Warwick Prep 4-3, then went on to win their final group game against Croft 7-4.
Although topping their table with 16 points along with Warwick Prep, their group position was Runner up going on goal difference. However with a place in the semi-final secured they continued their good run with a strong performance against the other group winners King Henry VIII, with another 7-4 win.
The A team met Bedford in the Final and were 1-5 down in the first half. In the second half they began to build momentum and made a very strong comeback, though just ran out of time to catch up and finished losing narrowly with a score of 4-6.
Well done to all of the girls for a great team effort and a final position of tournament Runners up out of 10 teams.
The B team also played in the tournament in the B teams and small school section.
With a great start to the competition the B team won their first game 5-1 against Croft B team. They continued their winning streak for a further three games defeating Warwick B 3-1, Stratford 1-0 and Spratton B 6-1 only to lose their final group game 0-2 to Crackley.
