After our packed lunch on Wednesday, we piled into the two MGS minibuses with three X-Country teams which consisted of six girls each from Years 4, 5 & 6. We were off to The Manor Prep School in Abingdon, Oxfordshire for their annual event.
When we arrived, the girls were allotted a camp area and then had a chance to do a thorough warm up. The Year 6 girls ran first over a distance of 1800m followed by Year 5 doing 1500m and Year 4 running 1200m. Despite the freezing cold wind and damp conditions, the girls ran with determination and perseverance and there were some great finishes.
Our results were as follows…
Total no. of schools = 12 (teams of 6 runners each)
Year 6 = 5th overall
Top 3 = Jessie 10th/Sienna 12th/Lucy 19th
Year 5 = 3rd overall (Mara (4L) gained 3rd place in the individual awards)
Top 3 = Libby 11th/Georgie 14th/Helena 16th
Year 4 = 5th place
Top 3 = Mara 3rd/Lilianne 19th/Rebecca 20th
Other runners included Ksenia, Acada, Skye, Claudia, Poppy, Elodie, Charlotte and Molly.
A huge ‘Well Done’ to all the girls for their efforts on behalf of the school…they were amazing!!
