Distinctions all Round at Marlow Festival

1st December 16

Not only did the Maltman’s Belles and Chamber Choir receive Gold Medals with Distinction gradings at the Marlow Festival this year, but Helena U (5W) and Eleanor B (6A) also received Distinctions for their solo participation in the festival.

Helena took part in two classes, winning a Silver medal for the Under 12s and a Gold medal for the Grade 1-2 class. One of her classes had fifteen competitors in total so a huge well done to Helena for her musical efforts.

Eleanor received a Silver Medal in the Grade 5-6 Vocal Solo class, competing against girls many years older than herself. Both Helena and Eleanor are taught by Mrs Elaine Tudor-Williams.

The Chamber Choir sang two songs by Bob Chilcott – ‘On Your Bike!’ and ‘Keep it Good’ – and were awarded a Distinction by the judges, along with some lovely comments about their singing, along with constructive pointers on how to develop their singing even further. They were also awarded the Mayor’s Cup for winning the Junior School classes, which was presented at the Prize winners Concert to mark the end of this year’s festival.
