Distinction for Maltman’s Belles at Marlow Festival

21st November 16

The Maltman’s Belles had their first performance of the year as they performed in front of two judges at the Marlow festival last week.

They performed the famous “March” from Tchaikovsky’s ‘The Nutcracker’ (this piece featured some rather fast quaver passages which the girls have worked particularly hard at) as well as “Yankee Doodle”, which they played at two different speeds, to impress the audience with their super-fast playing!

The girls didn’t end up competing against any other ensembles on this occasion, and so they received the Gold medal by default! However, the judge wrote all positive comments about their fantastic playing and stage presence which was lovely to hear, awarding them with a high Distinction mark.

Thank you to the twelve girls in this year’s Maltman’s Belles team for their dedication and effort at rehearsals so far this term.
