Year 5 AB Squads Netball Tournament

17th October 16

Preparations had been finalised, our two U10 teams had arrived as had our visiting teams with their coaches and supporters, the umpires meeting had taken place, welcomes done… the 2 minute bell for the start of our annual tournament rang out!

At precisely 9.30am, whistles from bouth courts blew opposing teams into action… our U10A and U10B played together in their first match with the A team winning 6-0. The A team then went on to play High March A (lost 3-6) in an exciting match, High March B (won 7-0), Claire’s Court (won 8-0) and finally Highfield (won 2-0)… it had almost been a clean sweep!

The B team’s results were as follows… MGS B v High March A (lost 2-11), v Claire’s Court (lost 0-6), v Highfield (lost 0-2), v High March B (won 7-0).

It was a great morning of netball where both teams supported each other and played their socks off!

Final Results:

1st High March 21 points
2nd MGS A 21 points (lost on goal difference)
3rd Highfield 20 points
4th Claire’s Court 8 points
5th MGS B 6 points
6th High March B 4 points

Sincere thanks to Mrs Clifford who came to award the medals and certificates, the PE Department team, the kitchen ladies who manned the refreshment room, the caretakers for helping us set up and last, but certainly not least, our very supportive parents who cheered the girls on.
