Year 1 Outing to Iver Environment Centre

11th October 16

On Thursday 29 September, as part of our History and Geography topic ‘Food and Farming’, Year 1 had their first outing to Iver Environment Centre.

First, we had a tour around a working farm. The girls were all very excited to meet Farmer Dave and his sheep dog, Brie and even had the chance to stroke some very cuddly Shetland Ponies.

Having been on a fruit and vegetable hunt in the allotments, we made butter by hand and put our muscles to the test when we had to grind wheat into flour. The girls were amazed to see how much grain was needed just to make one spoonful of flour!

We had a fabulous day and were incredibly lucky with the weather!
