About | Academic Results & Destinations

Our aim is for every girl to achieve her best and we are very proud of their achievements. Our girls progress to some of the best schools in the country, both grammar and independent, including Wycombe Abbey, The Royal Masonic School, Cheltenham Ladies’ College and Dr Challoner’s High. It is our strong belief that girls and their parents should be offered a wide range of schools from which to choose at 11. Many girls will take both the Buckinghamshire County 11+ examinations and an entrance exam for a leading independent senior school.

Buckinghamshire County 11+ Examinations

In Year 6, many girls take the Buckinghamshire County Transfer Test (formerly 11+) for entry into the local grammar schools, including Dr Challoner’s High and Beaconsfield High. The tests consist of questions in verbal reasoning, numerical reasoning and non-verbal reasoning.

We are immensely proud to announce that 80% of 2017 leavers achieved the pass rate. This is around twice the county average, and we could not have asked any more from the girls. Well done!

Entrance Examinations and Scholarships for Independent Senior Schools at 11+

The 11+ ISEB Common Entrance syllabus in English, Maths and Science is taught to all Year 6 girls, which gives them the knowledge and skills for any entrance examination they sit.

Girls are also prepared for scholarship examinations, with a high rate of success on academic, music, sport and general scholarships.

Our 2017 leavers performed extremely well in the independent school entrance exams and Common Entrance. Many of our pupils have gained places, and in many cases, scholarships to independent schools including Downe House, Pipers Corner, Roedean, Royal Masonic, St George's, Wycombe Abby, Headington and Berkhamsted, to name a few.

A record number of scholarships were awarded in 2018 including academic scholarships to St Mary's, Queen Anne's, The Royal Masonic, Berkhamsted, Pipers Corner and St George's; sport scholarships to St Helen's, St Mary's and Berkhamsted; and performance scholarships to St Clement Danes, Headington and Berkhamsted.

Feedback from both local grammar and independent schools confirms that the emphasis we place on personal development, attitude and approach to learning serves the girls well in their secondary school.
