HEAD OF SCIENCE

Required September 2019

We are looking for an exceptional Science teacher who can inspire our girls. You will have the exciting opportunity to lead the implementation of a creative Science curriculum, with an emphasis on practical experimental work, and the use of the extensive school grounds to develop outdoor learning.

The successful candidate will be expected to expand the extracurricular offering for their subject and increase the profile of Science both in school and within the wider community. Our two dedicated Science laboratories are bright, vibrant and stimulating, with outstanding resources.

RECEPTION TEACHER

Required no later than Easter 2019

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed teacher to join our Early Years team. Our Early Years department consists of two parallel Reception classes and a Nursery. The classrooms are bright, vibrant and stimulating, with outstanding resources.

FACILITIES MANAGER

Required as soon as available

This is an exciting new role created to enhance the estates management function of a thriving school. We are looking for a high quality professional who will report to the Bursar. They will be responsible for the overall safety, maintenance, condition and cleanliness of the School estate. This includes the historic malting house main school building plus state-of-the art modern facilities such as a 6-lane, 25 metre swimming pool and our Lapraik hall.

The successful candidate will have relevant qualifications, preferably BIFM Level 4 as a minimum; a strong background in project management; good technical competence in buildings and mechanical and electrical matters; and excellent communication, administrative and analytical skills. Knowledge and experience of working within a school would be advantageous but is not essential. The successful candidate will also need to exhibit strong team management prowess.

Personal qualities needed include a qualitative approach to outputs, flexibility, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively as part of a large and diverse team.

CARETAKER

(Non-residential) Term-time working - required as soon as possible

We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Caretaker to join our Facilities Support team. You will be responsible for the general care and upkeep of the School buildings and grounds. You will assist the Facilities Support Manager with the setting up of rooms and venues for events, ad hoc cleaning and all round general maintenance tasks.

You must:

  • be able to meet key aspects set out in the Job Description.
  • have experience and/or a keen interest in the subject matter.
  • have good levels of literacy, numeracy and communication.
