Our girls love Science and their enthusiasm is reflected in the excellent results they achieve in standardised tests. Whether searching for bugs, flying parachutes or refining rock salt, Science at Maltman’s Green is enjoyable, relevant and interesting, enabling the children to become confident scientists. The emphasis is on investigation and discovery. Work is carefully planned and differentiated and includes visits and field trips.

In the Senior School, Science is taught by specialists in the Junior and Senior Laboratories. Our Science resources are excellent, the rooms are well-equipped and outside there are grassland areas (including a meadow), hedgerows, and a wooded area for practical investigations. The School also has a Discovery Garden, which includes a pond, where focused activities may be undertaken, including pond dipping and the study of aquatic Flora and Fauna.
