Snow Policy
The School will not close because of snow. We feel that it is important to remain open for those parents who are relying on us to care for their children in term time. In the event of heavy snowfall, we cannot guarantee a normal school day, but will ensure that all children who come to school will be well looked after and will be provided with an educationally valid day. We will also do our best to make sure that the day is enjoyable.
If the weather is severe enough we will declare the day a “Snow Day” and will post this on the website as soon as possible. We will notify parents of this by ParentMail.
The Question and Answer section below applies to Snow Days
Will I be contacted in the event of snow?
This policy can be found on the school website and gives clear instructions for snow days. The School will, therefore, not contact parents individually.
Do I need to contact the School?
There is no need to ring the School if you decide not to travel.
To travel to school or not?
Parents and staff have to decide whether it is safe and desirable for them to make the journey into school. There are a number of staff living in walking distance of school, enabling us to ensure that there will be someone at school to greet the girls who decide to come to school.
When should I collect my daughter?
Parents who decide to bring their daughters to school are welcome to collect at a time which suits them. When dropping off, we should be able to let you know when lunch will be and give you details of the plan for the day.
Where do I go to collect my daughter?
The girls can be collected at normal end of day from a classroom. The details will be displayed on the board at ADA. If you wish to collect your daughter earlier, this is not a problem, but we ask that you come to the School Office.
Will there be before and after school clubs?
The Breakfast Club will operate as normal. There will be no after school clubs or activities. However, should you be delayed in collecting your daughter, please ring the School Office to keep us informed. As always, we look after the girls until you are able to get here.
