Extra Curricular - Music

The Music department is a hive of activity and achieves an excellent standard.

A large proportion of the girls learn at least one instrument in school. There are numerous groups and ensembles that enable the girls to play together and enjoy making music with others. There is a school orchestra as well as a wind band, jazz group, recorder and string ensemble.

Choral music is a strength of the school. There is a training choir as well as the famous “Maltman’s Singers” 80 strong auditioned choir. The girls also have endless opportunities to sing in school productions. The Maltman’s Singers have enjoyed many national successes over the last few years. Most recently, they have qualified for the “Choir of the Year” competition and will be back in Cardiff for the finals in November.
