In Nursery and Reception, we aim to create a happy, stable, caring and stimulating atmosphere which provides a nurturing and secure environment for the girls. We work to develop the ‘whole’ child, establishing a thirst for discovery, an ability to express creativity and an enjoyment for learning. Independence is encouraged in all aspects of Nursery and Reception life, extending the ability to learn, play and co-operate with others.
Great emphasis is placed upon delivering a broad and balanced curriculum which will enable the girls to establish a solid foundation of knowledge, understanding and social skills upon which they can build throughout their lives. A wide variety of activities are provided to suit all abilities which enable the girls to work towards achieving the Early Learning Goals with the six Foundation Stage Areas of Learning as listed below:
Our aim is to ensure that by the end of Nursery, the girls are well prepared for the transition into full-time school and that by the end of the Reception year they are well prepared for the transition into Year One.
